North Central Community Action Agencies, Inc. (NCCAA) is a private, not-for-profit Corporation established in 1966 to address the issues and concerns facing low-income people in Counties of LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, Porter, Newton, Jasper, and Cass. Through the program and services available, we strive to enable economically disadvantaged people to become self-sufficient and less dependent on public assistance. NCCAA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors with equal representation from the public, private, and low income community sectors.
Some of the programs and services we provide include the Energy Assistance (LaPorte, Starke and Pulaski Counties), Weatherization (all counties listed above) Youth and Senior Programs, Children's Vision Screening and Ramp Programs in LaPorte County and Rental Assistance as well as supporting Community Service Programs in Starke and Pulaski Counties.

North Central Community Action Agency is organized for the purpose of eliminating poverty and its causes in LaPorte, Starke, and Pulaski Counties.
IHCDA (Community Service Block Grant, Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance funds and Department of Energy funds; City of Michigan City (CDBG)- Rental Assistance; Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation (Summer Youth Program, Ramp and Children's Vision Screening Program); LaPorte County Unity Foundation (After-school youth programs); TJMAXX Foundation (Community Centers); proceeds from Michigan City Mayoral Ball (community centers); FEMA and Michigan City Community Development Block Grant (Rental Assistance); Area Agency Aging( Senior-Congregate Feeding Program); NIPSCO (Weatherization); LaPorte Health Council, LaPorte County Unity Foundation, United Way, Kankakee Valley REMC, and Heart of Cook Foundation (Ramp Program); New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Private Donations.
